Walking Clent Hills

The Joys of Walking Clent Hills…

The entrance to Clent Hills

If you enjoy the fresh air, leisurely walks with family, dog walking or a workout, Clent Hills is brilliant for either. Clent Hills has miles of red grit pathways to follow, with off track hills to climb, accompanied by stunning views of the surrounding Worcestershire landscape.

Where to Begin?

Parking…

Once the Sat Nav leads to Hagley Wood Lane, look out for Nimmings Wood Car Park on the right. Just off the car park, there is access to Clent Hills. Wheres, we began our route just off Hagley Wood Lane, where cars lined up because the Car Park was full. There is a wooden gate that leads to an incline of steps. This is a heart pumping way to start a workout.

Workout or Stroll?

As much as we enjoy the fresh air and a stroll, we walk to keep fit and push ourselves. That’s why I carry a backpack with plenty of water and fruit. The bottles of water also act as weights for the extra workout.

Just off the red pathways, are up hill climbs. To maximise a workout, we jog, trudge or crawl up the mini steep hills. I’m not as fit as my partner so I’m either struggling behind or he’ll wait for me at the top of the hill. This isn’t for everyone; it’s just what we enjoy doing.

For a more leisurely stroll, keep to the pathways and enjoy the beautiful scenery or rest on one of the wooden benches around Clent Hills. It does have a relaxed atmosphere. As we scrambled around the hills, there were many families walking their dogs at their own pace.

After visiting Clent Hills, we always come away having had a wonderful morning and feeling motivated! We had a brilliant May Bank Holiday workout.

Facilities…

Nimmings Wood Car Park has toilets and a Café.
